Australian premier furniture retailer Coco Republic launched its outdoor collection at HD Buttercup showrooms in Los Angeles two years ago in 2019. Since then, owner and design lead Anthony Spon-Smith has continued to win over Californian customers continuing to expand the collection that now includes Coco Republic’s indoor and outdoor collections.

Anthony Spon-Smith said in a statement about the US operation, “It is exciting to see how successful Coco Republic have been over the last two years, it’s great to have our collections with our partners expand beyond outdoor and into the Coco Republic indoor collections”

Coco Republic’s outdoor collection was inspired by coastal Californian living and its alfresco lifestyle, originally including 40 items, has now expanded to hundreds of products across outdoor and indoor collections.

Pieces include teak dining tables and contemporary chairs for entertaining, modular lounges and sofas and a mix of occasional pieces, including accent stools and planters. The pieces are made from a mix of natural and manmade materials and textures, including teak, concrete and outdoor rope.

The 40-year-old furniture retailer has also won over design savvy customers in New Zealand with its first store in New Zealand set up in 2019 at Westfield Newmarket in Auckland. The store also includes Coco Republic’s amazing cafe chain, L’Americano.

Anthony Spon-Smith has proven to be one Australia’s most exportable design talents and eyes more international expansion over the next year.
