EBITDA grew 6.0% year-on-year to AU$750.3 million on revenue of AU$2.23 billion – down just 1.0% compared with first six months of the 2020 financial year.
This top-line data provides a strong indication that Aristocrat has been successful in adhering to its strategy of returning capital into shareholders and developing new markets.
The company remains committed to building shareholder value through a prudent approach to capital allocation, which includes maintaining a balanced dividend policy.
AU$209.1 million in Australia and New Zealand, but declined 11.1 percent to AU$810.2 million in the Americas.
Aristocrat increased its provision of AU$150 million from the previous $190 million to prepare for potential legal contingencies – including its lawsuit against rival slot machine maker International Game Technology and allegations of illegal gaming in New Jersey.
In December 2009 Aristocrat launched its first game in the online poker gaming market, PokerStars. Aristocrat has since followed this launch with the introduction of their games on other online gaming sites, such as Paddy Power Betfair and 5Dimes.
The company has licenses from The Malta Gaming Authority for its’ sports betting products on Unibet and is licensed by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission to operate a creative betting subsidiary. This subsidiary has been recruiting up to 600 staff in line with eye-catching growth targets and is expected to be listed on the London Stock Exchange to raise funds for further expansion.
